I am currently working in professional football responsible for providing sports psychology support to players, parents and academy staff. A key part of my role is to work alongside coaches and the wider staff team to create an environment that supports the development of psychological skills and qualities, and ultimately promotes the development of talent. My interests include the application and practice of sports psychology in professional sport. More specifically, how sports psychologists work alongside, and as part of a wider staff team to support talent development and performance. My doctoral research focuses on understanding how the talent development environment influences the development of young people and performers.
In addition to my full time work in professional football, I am completing a BPS accredited and HCPC approved Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University due for completion in April 2020. I work closely with and am supervised by Dr Mark Nesti, Dr Martin Littlewood and Dr Martin Eubank.
