Dr. Judy Seto currently serves as the Director of Sports Performance for the Los Angeles Lakers where she oversees the training, sports performance, strength and nutrition departments in collaboration with the medical and coaching staff. Prior to this role, she previously served as a physical therapy consultant for the Los Angeles Dodgers for 3 years as well as being the Lakers Head Physical Therapist for 5 years and consultant for 20 years.
Before moving into professional sports full time, Judy spent over 25 years working with the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic and Select Physical Therapy as a physical therapist specializing in sports. This provided opportunities to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare and sports performance individuals from a variety of teams including the NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS and NHL.
Judy’s educational background includes earning dual bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and psychology from UCLA, a master’s degree in physical therapy from Stanford University and a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Temple University. She also holds a master’s in business administration from Troy State University, is board certified in both orthopedics and sports and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Most recently, Judy completed the master’s program in High Performance Sport from Australian Catholic University.
