BBC SPORTS PRESENTER HUGH FERRIS TO HOST THE FMPA AWARDS 2019


The FMPA are delighted to announce that BBC TV presenter Hugh Ferris will be hosting the FMPA awards evening at the FMPA Conference & Awards 2019 17/18 May.

Hugh is a TV, radio and events presenter with nearly 16 years experience, spending most of his working life with BBC Sport. He appears on BBC TV, presenting the sport on the BBC News Channel, BBC Breakfast and BBC World News; and on radio for BBC Radio 5 Live, on BBC Radio 2 on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, and the World Service, including hosting the station’s flagship sports programme Sportsworld, broadcast to more than 40 million people.

Hugh has been based in Manchester since working at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, covering all the big sporting stories in the city. More than 400 games commentating on Manchester United and Manchester City include three Champions League finals, four FA Cup finals, four League Cup finals, and to date he’s reported on seven Premier League triumphs, most recently for City’s victory in May 2014 as part of his work hosting the club’s match day television show, broadcast live at the ground to more than 40,000 spectators.

At the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 Hugh presented at the sold-out Velodrome and also to an 80,000-strong crowd at the Olympic Stadium, and last summer anchored the World Service’s Rio 2016 coverage from the BBC Sport Centre in Salford.
