The FMPA and the British Association of Sport and Exercise SCIENCES (BASES) to work collaboratively

The FMPA is delighted to be working with BASES. The recent Memorandum of Understanding forges a new relationship between the FMPA and BASES, with both organisations committed to a mutually beneficial relationship, including collaboration in areas of CPD development and Research.

The agreement was signed by FMPA Chief Executive Officer Eamonn Salmon and BASES’ Chief Executive Officer, Ian Wilson.

Commenting on the new agreement, Dr Ibrahim Akubat, Chair of the BASES Sport and Performance Division said: “There is a great deal of synergy in the matters that interest members of the FMPA and the BASES Sport and Performance Division. This partnership builds on our strategy to work collaboratively with organisations that also serve our members. I strongly believe that when organisations like ours collaborate it leads to better outcomes for members of the sport performance community and we will continue to seek out other such partnerships. There are significant challenges that face the industry at this time and the more we work closely with each other, the more likely we are to be able to overcome these challenges.”

FMPA Chief Executive Officer Eamonn Salmon commented: “We are delighted to partner with BASES and look forward to developing a relationship that is certain to benefit both associations. Amongst our many services the FMPA are particularly adept in areas relative to legal matters, union representation and employment and regulatory law. I am sure a working relationship between the two associations will help to complete the support framework needed for our mutual members working in what is sometimes a harsh and unforgiving environment.”
