Primary ACL Reconstruction in professional footballers: Factors affecting return to play and graft re-rupture

Modern ACL reconstruction (ACLR) techniques have led to incrementally improved outcomes in professional footballers. The primary concern of both athlete and their team is whether the athlete will be able to return to play (RTP) and when that will happen. The aim of this investigation was to identify the optimal treatment of ACL injures in professional footballers by assessing patient, surgical, and post-operative factors that afect rate and time to RTP.
