Paul had a 15 year career as a Professional Footballer playing at Sheffield Wednesday, Barnet, Bradford City & Luton Town. He was a medic in the police force & has worked in anaesthetics within the operating theatres of a number of hospitals. His last 2 years at Luton Town were dominated by multiple muscular injuries causing him to retire early. This lead him to obtain an honours degree in physiotherapy to pursue a new career in the sports health field with a specific interest in cause of injury & prevention. He has worked within the NHS, was head physiotherapist at Peterborough United for 7 years & worked with 5 International football managers. He represented his country at semi-professional level and has now run his own private physiotherapy clinic for the last 25 years during which time he has carried out in excess of 80,000 treatments & assessments.
He has a particular interest in the origin & cause of repetitive muscular & tendinous injury & specialises in pelvic & lower back conditions. 18 years ago he discovered a fundamental movement dysfunction which underlies most lower limb muscular / tendinous issues and he has honed his knowledge & manual skills around this and developed his own protocol of assessment & treatment. This method of assessing the body & in particular position & movement is unique & it is this that enables him to resolve soft tissue problems that were previously resistant to improvement.
Having recently saved the careers of a number of footballers this approach is much sought after in a field which is inundated with a rising number of repetitive soft tissue problems. Paul runs his private clinic & consults for football clubs & professionals alike. He continues to study, test & enhance his knowledge on this subject.
