FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN INTEGRATING MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAMS WITHIN HIGH- PERFORMANCE SPORTS ORGANISATIONS

The post-commercialisation phase of sport has seen a dramatic increase in player wages and subsequently, teams have started to closely examine how they protect, care for, and develop their most valuable assets. When you consider that the wage spends across the 8 major global sports rose to $22.2 billion in 2018 1, it’s easy to understand why the multiple internal and external stakeholders invested in the industry have also started to take a close interest in the area.

Oliver is an experienced professional in sports performance environments, having worked around the world as a performance director, performance coach and physiotherapist in a variety of sports including football, Formula 1, rugby, basketball, tennis, athletics and latterly NHL. With a recent masters in Sports Directorship and a PhD in Experimental Medicine, Oliver now focuses on change management and quantifying markers of sustained success in high performance sports organisations, to inform sports investments, in his role as CEO at Beautiful Game Group LLC (www.BeautifulGameGroup.com).
